Transitional Montessori Kindergarten
Christ the King opened the first Transitional Montessori Class in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 2013. This method of education is designed to build independence and self esteem, and to instill a love for learning in children. Montessori education fosters self-motivation in children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. Everything in the Montessori classroom is child-centered, and students are encouraged to explore their environment using a hands-on approach. They progress at their own pace, guided by the teacher. Dr. Maria Montessori believed in the absorbent mind, and children are provided with opportunities to increase their intellectual capacity by learning a wide-range of subjects.

Kindergarten
Students who are 5 years of age by September 1 are accepted into our Kindergarten class. Our program fosters a love of learning, and builds the foundation for a successful transition to First Grade. Through a variety of stimulating, creative activities, children explore a wide range of subjects which encompass the spiritual, academic, social and physical development of each child.
Technology is integrated into student learning, and the classroom is equipped with a Smartboard and 1:1 iPads for students. |
